 Configuring NewsShark for Newsguy
  

1. From NewsShark's main program window, select the Scan button to begin your Newsguy configuration. This will open the Login dialog box to enter your information. Enter the News Server address and check the option for MODE READER. Once the Authentication required option is selected and your login information is entered, click the Connect button to continue.

Access through an Internet Service Provider

2. If this is your initial access with NewsShark, it may prompt you with the following message. Click OK to continue. Alternatively you can access a newsgroup by selecting Options button and Newsgroups tab then clicking the Add button. When the Add a newsgroup dialog opens, you can type in a specific newsgroup name, or click the Host button.

3. If you've selected the Host button you can type in a search string to narrow down your newsgroup selection. Use the Add Selections... button to build your subscribe list.

4. Once your subscribed list is created, you can close the setup dialog boxes then use the Scan button to start you download.

Tip #1: The Options button will allow you to adjust some useful settings for your NewsShark configuration, including download settings, scan settings, and filters.
