"Revisionist Hillary Praises Slick Willy"
  07/15/2000

Isn’t it funny how here in America we can have so much information and news come into our homes, whether over the Internet, the television, radio, newspaper, or other electronic device, yet we are soon to forget important facts?

It seems the affliction is more than just among the common people, if you will. Hillary Rodham-Clinton, you know, the wife of the guy who sits, among other things, in the Oral Office, um, Oval Office, has this problem, as well. In fact, she has a severe case of forgetful-itis, it seems.

When Hillary accepted the New York Democratic nomination back in May, Miss Hillary lavished praise on faithful and loving hubby Bill.

``I would not be standing here tonight were it not for Bill and were it not for all he has done for me,'' she told her cheering supporters. ``I could not be prouder, as an American and as a New Yorker, to have a president who has meant so much to our country.''

The first lady’s words regarding her husband brought the cheering Democratic crowd on its feet.

Considering Hillary’s words, I’m trying to figure out just what Bill did to help her get to the platform in New York where she accepted the nomination. Did he back her with anything? Was he loyal to her? Maybe it was the fact that he somehow managed to get himself elected by the unpopular vote.

The next question that comes to mind from her statement is why she is so proud of Mr. Bill. She says she could not be any more proud about having a husband who has meant so much to the United States. Does that mean she really isn’t proud of Bill, and cannot find it in herself to conjure up any feelings of pride, based on his record? Or based on his impeachment? Or based on his upcoming disbarment hearing in Arkansas? Yes, Hillary is ever so correct in her statement. Bill has meant a lot to this country. He is the first president to be impeached in a very long time. He is also the first president to get caught engaging in oral sex with an intern in the Oval Office. Wow! What a major impact that will have on future generations. What a role model Mr. Bill has been. What grand levels of achievement he has left as his legacy - levels of achievement others can only hope to accomplish. Can’t you just hear your seven-year-old now: “When I grow up I wanna be president so I can get someone to perform oral sex on me in the White House foyer!”

Because he is such a terrific husband and has always done everything possible to edify his wife, Bill was on hand for his wife’s acceptance. He had to change his schedule so he could be there, but he did it. He sat among 10,000 Democrats in the Albany sports area, listening to the empty words Hillary spoke. As he listened to the hallow praises, Bill silently mouthed a “thank you” as he looked at his wife. He then bowed his head. Perhaps that was in shame. I would hope it was in shame. He has a done a lot to has a great deal of shame hanging over his head.

Speaking to a group of bigwig New York Democrats after Hillary’s acceptance, Bill said he was “profoundly grateful for the way you have embraced her,” adding that Hillary “will not disappoint you.” Interesting. Maybe his subliminal message was use her, abuse her, treat her like dirt, and she will stay faithful to you. That’s what he did and she is still with him.

It’s funny how words can be interpreted. But what’s also funny, in a sad way, is the way history will be written. At least historical documents that tell of Hillary’s run for the New York Senate seat and her supportive statements of Bill’s presidency. I just hope that all of Bill’s history is not forgotten when the revisionism of his presidency is finished. It seems to have already started.

Hillary’s statements to the group of 10,000, followed by the cheers of the crowd, indicate to me the Democrats in New York are so gullible they will swallow anything you hand them. Maybe we ought spread the word in New York that Bill is a liar, that Bill has been impeached, that Bill did nothing to support his wife, and that Bill is a cheat - in every sense of the word. But then again, like I said, despite having the free flow of information in the country - an information glut, if you will - Americans seem to be the most uninformed people in the world. Maybe revisionists will change that, making us look like we really did have a grasp of political and world affairs. But then again, they probably won’t. So much for hoping.
